We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Aspire Employment Coach to join our team at Kaizen Lab Inc. The successful candidate will provide empathetic and aspirational employment support to individuals facing complex barriers, utilizing a trauma-informed approach.
Key Responsibilities- Support Daily Operations: Collaborate with the BEAMS Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the drop-in centre, providing a welcoming environment for participants.
- Participant Support: Monitor participant mental health and substance use, determining when to provide additional support, and create mutually agreed Aspire Plans to set goals and objectives.
- Employment Coaching: Provide ongoing support, including reviewing activities and results, monitoring and supporting participant progress, revising and updating the Aspire Plan, and maintaining contact with participants.
- Work Experience and Volunteer Placements: Coordinate work experience and volunteer placements, ensuring participants have access to employment-related opportunities.
- File Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date participant files, both hard copy and electronic.
- Eligibility and Suitability: Assess and identify eligibility and suitability for program financial supports, referring participants to specialized service providers as needed.
- Community Resource Access: Support participants in accessing community resources, including specialized assessments, financial, housing, legal, food, addiction support services, and facilitating referrals.
- Employment Program Options: Support participants in accessing other potential employment program options, developing, revising, and updating progress toward employment and employment readiness objectives.
- Liaison and Collaboration: Liaise with agency partners, service providers, community agencies, and employers to facilitate outreach and service provision.
- Workshop Delivery: Assist in the delivery of workshop curriculum, including job search techniques, career decision-making, employment maintenance, and life skills training.
- Team Collaboration: Work within a team environment to support other Aspire Coaches and support staff, providing ongoing person-centred support to participants.
- Education: An undergraduate degree in a related field, such as Career Development Practitioner Certificate, Social Services Diploma, or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience working with homelessness and marginalized groups in a direct support role, with 2-5 years' experience working with participants facing multiple barriers to employment.
- Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to problem-solve, work independently, and as part of a team, and skilled in the use of MS 365.
