Job Title: Divisional Payroll Manager - Strategic Leader

Job Summary:

Appreciating Talent is seeking an experienced Divisional Payroll Manager to lead a team of Payroll Officers in processing and executing fortnightly payroll efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Payroll Officers to process and execute payroll runs on time, every time.
  • Ensure sign-offs for pay runs are documented, saved, and circulated, utilizing Paytools for a complete and well-governed sign-off.
  • Partner with HR Services Manager to ensure Workday HCM systems are synced and data is accurate across both systems.
  • Utilize metrics, benchmarks, and SLAs to drive team performance, leveraging ServiceNow and associated performance dashboards.
  • Provide advice, mentoring, and coaching to Payroll Officers to develop their skills and abilities in the role.
  • Interpret awards, agreements, and contracts to provide advice to Payroll Officers and staff.
  • Perform complex and advanced payroll transactions and processes, including long service leave reconciliations, redundancies, and severance payments.

Requirements:

  • Substantial payroll experience in a large organization, including end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Ability to understand and interpret payroll legislation and processes, including tax and superannuation.
  • Accuracy in data entry with a high level of attention to detail and excellent numerical skills.
  • Proactive and results-driven with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement best practice processes.
  • Excellent customer service, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships at all levels of an organization.
