Health and Safety Specialist Role

We are seeking a skilled health and safety professional to shape and deliver our health, safety, and wellbeing strategy.

About the Position

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned health and safety expert to drive a culture where people feel safe, supported, and empowered.

You will be a trusted partner across the organization - coaching leaders, embedding best-practice systems, and driving business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing safe work procedures and compliance frameworks.
  • Designing and delivering engaging safety and wellbeing training programs.
  • Monitoring and investigating safety incidents, coaching managers on corrective actions.
  • Coordinating proactive health and wellbeing initiatives, return-to-work programs, and claims management.
  • Supporting voluntary safety roles (e.g., Emergency Wardens, First Aid Officers, HSRs).
  • Leading communications, audits, and wellbeing programs that enhance both physical and mental health.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in office-based and/or site-based safety environments (property, housing, maintenance, local government or similar).
  • Strong skills in investigations, risk management, and safety systems.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building ability.
  • Experience in wellbeing and return-to-work programs.
  • A passion for embedding safety and wellbeing into workplace culture.
