The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions for both internal and external clients. Possessing strong technical skills and expertise in software development, they play a crucial role in ensuring our success.
As a Software Engineer, you do not need much help or supervision and are able to work autonomously. You are comfortable interrogating other people's code to gain a clear understanding of the code and technologies used in projects. You actively contribute to improving code quality and consistency by applying your experience to promote best practices, ensuring your work and the work of others is maintainable, aligned with project goals, and easy to understand.
Key Responsibilities- Software Development: Develop software applications using appropriate technologies, adhering to best practices and industry standards, to meet business objectives.
- Task Management: Complete assigned tasks within agreed time frames, budgets, and quality standards, effectively managing priorities and deadlines.
- Collaboration: Confer and collaborate with team members and other developers to address system software problems, propose improvements, and make necessary modifications.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with industry trends and developments, proactively identifying and proposing changes that can enhance software quality, speed, and maintainability.
- Code Reusability: Where sensible reuse existing shared code and common libraries to improve development efficiency and maintain consistency across projects.
- Quality-Driven Development: Emphasize a focus on software quality throughout the development process, employing robust testing and best practices to ensure reliable and maintainable code.
- Complex Problem Solving: Assist others in the solving of complex issues where analysis requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors, employing analytical and problem-solving skills to find effective solutions.
- Operational Technical Support: Provide operational technical support for products and solutions, ensuring their smooth functioning and addressing any issues that may arise.
- After-Hours Support: Be available for after-hours support for applications falling within your area of responsibility, contributing to the overall reliability and stability of the software ecosystem.
- Demonstrated experience in software development, with a strong understanding of the principles and practices within a professional discipline.
- Experience in creating software solutions using modern coding frameworks (C#, .NET), ensuring efficient and effective development processes.
- Practical experience with AWS cloud technologies (Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, IaC (CDK), Cloudwatch).
- Experience with CD/CI pipelines including GIT code repositories and pipelines.
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Proven experience with Docker for containerization and application deployment.
- Experience in evaluating, choosing, disseminating, and implementing software development approaches, standards, and best practices.
- Skilled in using intricate analytical methods to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt their communication style to different audiences and use persuasion in delivering messages convincingly.
- Understanding and interest in sports is desired but not essential.
