Commercial Associate Job Description

Careerlink People Solutions is partnering with WRP Legal and Advisory to appoint an Associate in their Commercial team. This role involves working across various industries, including energy, agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, and professional services.

As a Commercial Associate, you will provide legal guidance to clients on large transactions, business contracts, and agreements. You will work proactively with new clients and collaborate with a skilled team to deliver exceptional results.

You will have opportunities to advise clients on asset and business acquisitions, distributions, new ventures, greenfield projects, and general commercial and corporate advisory services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting and reviewing commercial agreements, including sales, purchase, supply, and project agreements
  • Conducting legal research and analysis to provide guidance on various legal matters
  • Assisting in negotiating and structuring complex commercial transactions
  • Providing legal advice on corporate governance and compliance
  • Preparing legal opinions and memoranda on legal issues affecting commercial clients
  • Ensuring clients receive high-quality legal services
  • Collaborating with other practice areas and legal professionals to provide comprehensive legal services
Requirements
  • 4+ years of post-admission experience desirable
  • Completion of tertiary education and admission to practice in an Australian jurisdiction
  • Comprehensive legal and commercial knowledge, including contract law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance
  • Analytical skills to provide practical solutions for complex legal issues
  • Client-focused with the ability to build and maintain relationships and provide high-quality legal services
  • Excellent drafting, attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills
