The Nursing Services Coordinator will provide high-quality nursing services to the college community, focusing on primary health care, health education, and ongoing medical treatment and referrals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring the health status of students and staff on an ongoing basis and taking appropriate preventative steps or responses in relation to medical issues.
  • Providing timely medical response to accidents and emergencies as required.
  • Triage, treatment, and referral of illness and injury to students and staff in a nurturing and caring manner.
  • Managing individual medical action plans for students with chronic illnesses or health risks.
  • Health-related counseling and crisis management on issues relating to child/adolescent health.
  • Liaising with parents, staff, external agencies, and other healthcare professionals regarding student treatment and care.
  • Acting as an advocate on health-related issues for students.
  • Supporting staff in health matters particularly during events like swimming and athletics carnivals.
  • Attending college camps when required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current Working with Children Check.
  • Registration with AHPRA as a nurse.
  • Experience in a pediatric or education setting.
  • Substantial clinical skills, including triaging, treatment, and referrals.
  • Knowledge of quality, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Database.
  • Ongoing compliance with Child Safe policy and legal requirements.
