Job Opportunity

We are seeking a Visiting Medical Officer to join our team at a tertiary teaching hospital, providing specialist services including Maternity, Gynaecology, and Mental Health Services.

The Perinatal and Women's Mental Health Service is a multidisciplinary team comprising psychiatrists, mental health Clinical Midwife Consultants, clinical psychologists, outreach mental health clinicians, and psychiatry Registrars.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care, adhering to strict standards of professionalism.
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork and communication skills when interacting with medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate complex information effectively to junior medical staff and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to the education and development of undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as other healthcare staff.
Requirements:
  • Hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent specialist recognition.
  • Possess ongoing evidence of continuing professional development and self-assessment practices consistent with the role's requirements.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in delivering high-quality specialist services in Perinatal Psychiatry and Women's Mental Health.
  • Exemplify exceptional professional conduct and provide mentorship to junior medical staff and the multidisciplinary team.
