This role involves providing quality health care services to students and staff in a large educational institution. The successful candidate will have experience in pediatric or education settings, with substantial clinical skills including triaging, treatment, and referrals as well as management of individual action plans for students with chronic illnesses or health risks.
The College Health Specialist will work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student health and wellbeing. This includes monitoring health status, providing medical responses to emergencies, undertaking triaging, treatment, and referral of illness and injury, managing individual medical action plans, and providing health-related counselling and crisis management.
In addition, the College Health Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate medical records, ensuring confidentiality and privacy of medical records, contributing to the development of health-related policies and procedures, arranging disposal of used/contaminated/hazardous materials, and maintaining current medication and First Aid supplies.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities. They will also have basic computer skills and a current Driver's License.
