Staff Specialist - Chemical Pathology

Role Description

This is a challenging role that requires providing high quality diagnostic, consultative, procedural and on-call specialty services in Chemical Pathology.

The successful candidate will participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities commensurate with the Staff Specialists (State) Award.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist advice and expertise to clinicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Conduct and interpret complex investigations, including laboratory tests and procedures
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Chemical Pathology, or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialists (State) Award
  • Demonstrated commitment to basic, applied or clinical research and/or medical education and staff training
