Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Production Manager to lead our daily production operations. This role is based at our Charters Towers facility, where you will be responsible for overseeing the manufacture of explosive products, including ANFO and emulsions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the production process to ensure targets are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Allocate tasks and monitor team performance to meet daily production goals.
  • Conduct regular safety briefings and enforce strict safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Coordinate batching, dispatch, and delivery schedules with logistics teams to optimize production efficiency.
  • Monitor product quality and maintain accurate records of QA activities.
  • Report equipment faults and authorize shutdowns as necessary to prevent downtime.
  • Manage inventory levels and oversee goods documentation to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Prepare detailed production reports and maintain compliance records to support business operations.
  • Mentor staff and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a manufacturing or explosives industry setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Familiarity with explosive materials and relevant regulatory standards, such as those related to safety and environmental protection.
  • Moderate computer literacy and ability to manage reporting systems and software.
  • A proactive and safety-focused mindset, with high attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to lead with fairness, consistency, and integrity, and to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
