About the Role

SIG is a quantitative trading firm that requires a skilled Trading Support Team Lead to join our team. As a Trading Support Team Lead, you will be responsible for providing team leadership and supervision of the trading support analysts team.

You will be hands-on as well as providing leadership to the team. Your responsibilities will include helping the day-to-day running of the trading desks for Susquehanna, which will entail position reconciliations, ensuring trades are captured in an efficient and timely manner, and positions are accurate and reconciled to external brokers. The Position also provides profit and loss estimates for the day's activity.

The role requires an understanding of financial instruments, especially equities, futures, and equity derivatives, as the successful candidate will be working with experienced traders in the financial sector. Knowing how to work directly with traders and having good working relationships is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be outcome-focused, self-driven, with the ability to plan forward and anticipate/mitigate risks.
  • Supervise and lead the existing team, with a collaborative and consultative approach to developing the team's needs and goals.
  • Strong ability to motivate people, be a trusted team player.
  • Compile/reconcile trade, transactions, and positions.
  • Prepare and submit delivery instructions for proprietary trading.
  • Assist with maintaining position, P&L, and information exchange.
  • Maintaining and managing operational processes as per regulatory framework to ensure exchange compliance.
  • Use of algorithmic trading tools under instruction from traders.
  • Update and manage all exchange trading systems, proprietary trading applications, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Act as liaison between desk traders and other dealers, traders, or brokers and all internal departments.
  • Take ownership of desk projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • 7+ years' experience working in the financial markets arena.
  • Experience leading a team as well as maintaining a hands-on role.
  • Operational knowledge of Asian Financial markets.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of handling trade flow through to settlement.
  • Thorough knowledge of equity and equity derivative products.
  • Worked with Bloomberg and proficient in Excel.
  • Ability to build strong and positive relationships both internally and with Broker contacts.
  • Ability to promote new ideas and solutions.
  • Confidence to escalate issues and be proactive to drive changes.
  • Works well with an established team and can build strong relationships with team members.
  • Maintaining strong organisational skills and meticulous record-keeping as well as fostering efficiency and accuracy to complete tasks and follow process.
  • Ability to prioritise based on materiality and risk considerations.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems.
  • Analytical mindset when tackling issues.
  • Detail-oriented; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-moving, highly intellectual environment.
  • Must be a self-starter, a quick learner, and resourceful in solving problems.
  • Reliable and flexible team player with a positive demeanour.
  • Ability to move throughout the trading floor as needed.
