Procurement Specialist

This is a strategic role that combines category management, supplier partnerships, and community impact.

  • The Procurement Specialist will lead with purpose and make commercial decisions to deliver the right product, at the right price, in the right place.
About the Role

This is a key position within our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading category planning, product selection, and supplier negotiations across food, grocery, and general merchandise.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Category Planning: Lead the development of category plans to drive business growth and profitability.
  2. Supplier Negotiations: Build long-term partnerships with major distributors to secure the best possible deals.
  3. Pricing Integrity: Review pricing integrity to ensure accurate pricing across all products.
  4. Logistics Management: Collaborate with retail and logistics teams to ensure stock is delivered on time and on budget.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a procurement or category role.
  • Proven experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and margin control.
  • Strong data skills – comfortable working with reports and analysing performance.
  • Excellent communication and adaptability – able to engage with everyone from store teams to executives.
  • A collaborative and community-minded attitude, with a drive to give back through your work.
