We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to lead the development and implementation of strategic category plans across food, grocery and general merchandise.

This is a key role within our organization, responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. The successful candidate will have excellent commercial acumen, strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic category plans that meet business objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Conduct market research and analysis to inform category strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective execution
  • Travel to remote store locations to assess stock, gather feedback, and build relationships
Requirements:
  • 3+ years in a buying, procurement or category management role (retail/FMCG/grocery/wholesale)
  • Experience in supplier negotiations, contract management and margin control
  • Strong data skills – comfortable working with reports, analyzing performance and making commercial decisions
  • Excellent communication and adaptability – able to engage with everyone from store teams to executives
  • A collaborative and community-minded attitude, with a drive to give back through your work
  • Willingness to travel to regional and remote locations as part of your role
