Key Responsibilities
  • Lead product selection, pricing, and supplier negotiations across food, grocery, and general merchandise.
  • Develop long-term relationships with major distributors like Coles, Woolworths, Bidfoods, and Metcash.
  • Analyse performance data to inform strategic decisions and ensure margin targets are met.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to deliver the right products, at the right price, and on time.
  • Support store teams with core range implementation and product performance insights.
  • Travel to remote locations to assess stock, gather feedback, and build relationships.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in buying, procurement, or category roles (retail/FMCG/grocery/wholesale).
  • Strong negotiation skills, contract management experience, and analytical prowess.
  • Excellent communication and adaptability – able to engage with various stakeholders.
  • A collaborative attitude, drive to give back through work, and willingness to travel to regional and remote locations.
