Senior Mechanical Workshop Lead

The Workshop Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a state-of-the-art tanker repair facility in Western Australia. This high-level leadership role requires strong expertise in mechanical servicing, fabrication, workshop operations, and compliance standards.
- Lead a team of experienced technicians and fabricators to ensure peak performance.
- Manage workshop scheduling, production planning, and labour allocation to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Oversee budgeting, job costing, and financial performance to ensure the facility meets its targets.
- Implement process improvement strategies to enhance safety and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring strict compliance with industry standards, including AS2809, OH&S, and heavy vehicle modification regulations.
- Driving a safety-first culture and enforcing OH&S best practices.
- Acting as the primary contact for clients, ensuring service excellence and strong stakeholder relationships.
Requirements for success in this role include:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in a senior mechanical or fabrication workshop management role.
- Proven leadership skills to manage large teams and complex projects.
- Expertise in heavy vehicle repairs, mechanical servicing, and fabrication (bulk liquid tanker knowledge highly desirable).
This position offers a competitive salary package of AU$130,000 - AU$150,000 per annum.
