Destec is a diversified mining contractor with a rapidly growing client base, providing ore crushing, screening, and materials handling services to the mining industry.

We pride ourselves on innovation through designing, constructing, building, maintaining, and operating our own crushing and screening plants for Tier 1 mining sites. Additionally, we offer ore processing and materials handling services across Western Australia.

About The Role

We are currently seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our workshop team based in Canning Vale. There may be opportunities to assist with FIFO shutdowns at mine sites and provide site coverage. This role offers variety, as no two days are the same in our workshop.

Our workshop is located in Canning Vale, but will be relocating to Bibra Lake in September.

Hours: Monday to Friday (10 hours), Saturday (6 hours) — 56 hours per week

Rates: Full Time + Leave Entitlements

  • Ordinary Time: $43.00
  • Time & Half: $64.50
  • Double Time: $86.00

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have

  • An appropriate Australian Mechanical Fitter or related qualification
  • Experience with fixed plant components such as crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, chutes, hydraulics, etc.
  • WA Driver's Licence
  • Ability to interpret drawings and instructions and perform workshop fitting
  • Analytical and methodical problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening
  • Ability to provide a national police clearance

Preferred, but not essential:

  • First Aid or Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Working at Heights
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Elevated Work Platform competency
  • Dogging & Rigging competency
