Job Title: Lead Mechanical Engineer

The role of the Lead Mechanical Engineer is a highly respected position within our organization. As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical design and development of complex systems.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct systems analysis to derive function, performance and interface requirements to meet electrical safety parameters.
  • Engage with System Design activities (including trade studies) to ensure that the mechanical design artefacts are compatible with the baselined product; consistent across all subsystems, delivering system design to meet performance requirements.
  • Perform technical risk analysis as required in your work as the mechanical engineer to support development and review of hazard logs, safety case arguments and risk mitigation actions.
  • Ensure assigned mechanical components are developed and implemented according to appropriate standards and procedures.
Key Requirements:
  • Tertiary Qualification in relevant mechanical/mechatronics/structural engineering discipline; holding as a minimum tertiary qualifications and professional development sufficient to attain recognition as CPEng with Engineers Australia in a relevant engineering stream, including ability to attain RPEQ recognition.
  • Experience in an Engineering discipline including involvement in one or more of the following Engineering practices - Requirements Definition, Management, Analysis, Design and Verification and Validation.
  • Experience in effectively representing Engineering professional services to both internal and external customers.
  • Minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience (when a University Degree is held).

This position may require availability to travel when required. Eligibility to obtain and maintain a NV1 Defence Security Clearance is necessary.
