About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team at UniLodge Kensington, NSW. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our properties, ensuring that we meet the highest standards of safety, security, and quality.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To perform and oversee facilities and building maintenance services, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations, meeting service requirements, and maintaining a safe and secure work environment for all building occupants and visitors.
  • Manage the overall maintenance of apartments, common areas, and building exteriors, including addressing urgent works, modifications, and emergency call-outs.
  • To operate within agreed company health and safety procedures and follow industry and statutory regulations, maintaining the highest level of maintenance, safety, and security at all times.
  • Establish systems and procedures to facilitate preventative maintenance programs, record, report, and assist the General Manager to manage all building defects.
  • Assist other staff and residents with training in preventative maintenance and health and safety issues, assist in formulating maintenance budgets year on year, and liaise with the General Manager and carry out apartment departure inspections and repairs.
  • Manage the work of external contractors and provide progress updates to the General Manager, obtain all warranties and operations manuals for all plants and equipment.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in general property and grounds maintenance and repairs, including electrical, plumbing installations, and building maintenance.
  • Trade qualification highly regarded, confident computer skills, including ability to use various systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, 'safety-first' mindset, and understanding of basic OH&S principles and chemical handling.
  • Class C Driver's License, reliable vehicle, current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to obtain, NSW Working with Children's Check, valid National Police Check obtained within the last 3 months, or willingness to obtain, and valid work rights in Australia.
