UniLodge is a leading provider of student accommodation in Australia and New Zealand, with a portfolio of close to 140 properties and hotels. We're seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at UniLodge Kensington.

 

About the Role

We're offering a permanent full-time position for a Maintenance Manager to oversee facilities and building maintenance services at our newest property in Kensington, NSW. As a key member of our team, you'll ensure that we comply with all codes and regulations, meet service requirements, and maintain a safe and secure work environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform and oversee the facilities and building maintenance services at the property
  2. Manage the overall maintenance of apartments, common areas, and building exterior
  3. Operate within agreed company health and safety procedures and follow industry and statutory regulations
  4. Maintain the highest level of maintenance, safety, and security at all times
  5. Establish systems and procedures to facilitate preventative maintenance programs
  6. Record, report, and assist the General Manager to manage all building defects
  7. Assist other staff and residents with training in preventative maintenance and health and safety issues
  8. Assist in the formulation of maintenance budgets year on year
  9. Liaise with the General Manager and carry out apartment departure inspections and repairs
  10. Manage the work of external contractors and provide progress updates to General Manager
  11. Obtain all warranties and operations manuals for all plants and equipment

 

Requirements

  • Similar experience in general property and grounds maintenance and repairs (including electrical, plumbing installations, and building maintenance)
  • Trade qualification will be highly regarded
  • Confident computer skills, including ability to use various systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • 'Safety first' mindset, and an understanding of basic OH&S principles and chemical handling
  • Class C Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willing to obtain
  • NSW Working with Children's Check (WWCC), or willing to obtain
  • Valid National Police Check obtained within the last 3 months, or willing to obtain
  • Valid work rights in Australia

Estimated Salary: AU$80,000 - AU$110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
