About the Role

The Exploration Geologist is a pivotal position in delivering high-quality field data acquisitions across operations and exploration tenements. This role entails ensuring safe and efficient delivery of geoscience field activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exploration geoscience field activities with utmost safety and efficiency.
  • Adhere to requirements of landowner agreements and environmental permits.
  • Design borehole plans for drilling contractors and monitor compliance to specifications.
  • Conduct geological logging, chip and core sampling following established guidelines.
  • Collect, store, prepare sample instructions for dispatching samples.
  • Ensure geophysical surveys are obtained as per design requirements.
  • Monitor the performance of geoscience contractors and service providers.
  • Maintain adherence to geoscience standards.
  • Contribute to development of exploration programme close out reports as required.
  • Verify accuracy of Drilling Activity Reports and confirm charges.
  • Reconcile borehole execution against hold design.
  • Reconcile predicted geological variables with actual results.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Geoscience with demonstrated experience in the field.
  • Proven experience in relational database software (preferably acQuire).
  • Ability to manage multiple scopes of work.
  • Basic financial metrics and budgeting/scheduling skills.
  • Familiarity with Coal Mining Safety & Health Legislation.
  • Able to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Contractor management experience.
