Geological Field Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Geologist to join our team. This hands-on role involves both field and laboratory work, supporting coal seam gas assessment projects.
- Conduct field-based geological activities, including core and cuttings sampling, gas desorption analysis, and gas composition sample collection.
- Perform detailed core and cuttings logging, data entry, and compilation of drill hole information.
- Prepare final geological logs and gas desorption reports.
- Carry out laboratory-based gas desorption testing, along with equipment calibration and maintenance.
- Assist with mobilisation/demobilisation of teams and equipment to and from site.
- Participate in the rig-up and rig-down of field equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working in varying field conditions and climates.
- Providing high-quality geological data and reports.
- Maintaining confidentiality across all projects and company operations.
- Traveling as required (local and interstate).
Requirements for this role include:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Geology or Earth Science.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Experience in collecting and analysing desorbing gas from coal core.
