About the Role

The Perinatal Mental Health Clinician will collaborate with parents, caregivers, and various early childhood and family support services to enhance the health and wellbeing of children. This role focuses on delivering targeted and intensive assistance to at-risk families with young children.

Early intervention is vital for achieving favorable outcomes for families. Your responsibilities will include providing a comprehensive service that empowers families to meet the objectives outlined in the Child and Family Action Plan (CFAP).

About You

We are looking for a professional who excels in establishing rapport and fostering relationships built on trust and accountability. You should be adept at working with a diverse clientele and collaborating with various services across the community.

Key Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mental Health with current AHPRA or AASW registration.
  • In-depth understanding of the effects of perinatal emotional health on high-risk families, particularly regarding family dynamics, trauma, adult mental health, and family violence.
  • Extensive experience in home-based, community, and outreach settings, effectively implementing therapeutic interventions during the perinatal emotional health period.
  • Proven practice based on respect for the values and rights of clients, oneself, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in client engagement, including communication, conflict resolution, counseling, and negotiation skills with key community organizations and clients.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, manage your workload, and take responsibility for your contributions within the Enhanced MCH team.
  • Successful candidates must obtain a National Police Check and a Working with Children Check.
