Job Summary

Chandler Macleod is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety & Environment Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for delivering expert Health & Safety guidance to ensure a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Expert Health & Safety Guidance: Provide guidance to ensure a safe work environment and manage Health & Safety culture and behaviors during unit outages and maintenance activities.
  • Manage Health & Safety Systems and Processes: Own and manage Health & Safety systems and processes, including risk assessments, critical control checks, safety observations, and safety audits.
  • Provide Advice and Support: Provide advice, support, guidance, and coaching to Contractor personnel to increase H&S awareness and assist in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risk occurrence of injuries, illness, and disease.
  • Lead Incident Investigations: Lead, advise, and support leaders with incident investigations from basic to I.C.A.M, ensuring that root causes are identified and that actions are implemented to prevent recurrences.
  • Develop Relationships and Participate in Safety Initiatives: Proactively develop relationships and participate in safety initiatives and committees, including regular attendance at site safety meetings and forums.
  • Validate Pre-Qualification of Contractor HSE Personnel: Validate pre-qualification of contractor HSE personnel on site and ensure compliance to processes and expectations.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 Years of HSE Experience: Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in industrial or HV Power settings.
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in WHS Management or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Comprehensive Understanding of WHS Legislation: Comprehensive understanding of WHS legislation and Australian Standards, including codes and standards with the ability to interpret and apply to real-world situations.
  • Lead Incident Investigations: Lead incident investigations, liaise with safety inspectors, union officials, and accreditation auditors, and drive continuous improvement in safety practices.
  • Current Construction Induction Card: Current Construction Induction Card (CIC).
  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Intermediate computer skills (SAP, Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
