Legal Associate Job Opportunity

This role presents a chance to gain valuable experience in the criminal division of the supreme court. The associate will be working closely with the honourable justice tinney, providing support with legal tasks and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Proofreading and editing legal documents;
  • Performing administrative tasks, including maintaining court records and preparing materials for use by the judge in court;
  • Assisting with clerking in court and speaking in front of the jury;
  • Liaising with court staff, the public, the media, and the legal profession;
  • Accompanying the judge to circuit courts as required.

Applicants must have completed a law degree or be close to completion. An interest in becoming an advocate is desirable.

Requirements:
  • A strong academic record;
  • Excellent proofreading, editing, typing, and computer skills;
  • An advanced organisational capacity;
  • Proficiency in english grammar;
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to confidently convey information to members of the legal profession, the public, and the media.
