About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Administrator to join our team at Icon Group. As a Medical Administrator, you will play a critical role in providing efficient and effective administrative services to support the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcoming patients and collecting personal details
  • Scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
  • Triaging referrals to on-site specialists and coordinating patient care
  • Answering telephone calls and responding to patient enquiries
  • Patient admission, health-fund checks, and detailing additional patient costs
  • Entering and processing patient billing and balancing daily banking
  • Maintaining and managing patient information and records
  • Supporting Icon's WHS Officers and committees to effectively carry out their responsibilities
Requirements
  • Experience in a front-line health administration role, including the use of electronic management systems
  • Understanding of Medicare and health insurance funds
  • Windows (or similar) programs, e.g., Email, Word
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a team environment
  • Effective interpersonal communication and collaborative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as a team member, supporting the Icon values
