Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Specialist

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander wellbeing specialist sought to lead the development and delivery of culturally safe wellbeing services in a tertiary education setting.
The successful applicant will provide therapeutic counselling, case management, and health promotion to support student success and improve mental health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and delivery of an Indigenous Student Wellbeing Program.
- Provide culturally appropriate counselling (individual and group), case coordination, and advocacy.
- Collaborate with Indigenous student support services and other internal stakeholders to ensure holistic care.
- Build and maintain referral pathways with external community agencies.
- Contribute to health promotion, training, and wellbeing initiatives across multiple campuses.
- Qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or a related field, with current registration (AHPRA for psychologists or AASW for social workers).
- Demonstrated experience providing culturally responsive counselling to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience supporting clients with complex psychosocial needs in high-demand environments.
- A commitment to cultural safety, continuous learning, and inclusive practice.
- Valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
- A meaningful role supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student wellbeing.
