Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a skilled Sommelier to join our team and contribute to delivering a best-in-class wine experience. As a Sommelier, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of wines and develop your knowledge and skills in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional wine service to our guests, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable dining experience.
  • Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of local, national and international wines, including their origins, characteristics and pairing recommendations.
  • Work collaboratively with our culinary team to create innovative and harmonious wine and food pairings.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of wine lists and menus that showcase our commitment to quality and excellence.
  • Provide training and support to junior staff members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver exceptional wine service.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Sommelier or Wine Waitstaff in a fine dining and/or high volume restaurant.
  • Knowledge of local, national and international wine, including their origins, characteristics and pairing recommendations.
  • Passion for wine and the hospitality industry.
  • Exceptional service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Outgoing personality and genuine interest in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Possession of a valid Certificate of Responsible Service of Alcohol.
  • WSET, CMS qualification or equivalent advantageous.
  • Availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
