Opportunity OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Sommelier to join our team and contribute to delivering a best-in-class wine experience. As a Sommelier, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of wines and develop your knowledge and skills in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional wine service to our guests, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable dining experience.
- Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of local, national and international wines, including wine regions, grape varieties and wine-making techniques.
- Work collaboratively with our culinary team to create wine pairing menus and recommendations.
- Assist with wine list development and maintenance, ensuring a diverse and exciting selection of wines.
- Provide training and support to junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Experience as a Sommelier or Wine Waitstaff in a fine dining and/or high volume restaurant.
- Knowledge of local, national and international wine, including wine regions, grape varieties and wine-making techniques.
- Passion for wine and the hospitality industry.
- Exceptional service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Outgoing personality and genuine interest in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
- Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Possession of a valid Certificate of Responsible Service of Alcohol.
- WSET, CMS qualification or equivalent advantageous.
- Availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
