As a strategic leader within our People and Culture team, the Head of People Services will play a pivotal role in driving excellence in HR solutions and operational efficiency.
- Lead a high-performing team of Business Partners to deliver integrated payroll, HR systems, provisioning, background checking, workforce planning/analytics, and HR operations with exceptional quality.
- Champion consistency and excellence in delivering world-class HR services and operational performance.
- Develop and implement consistent people services to drive continuous process, system, and service improvement, ensuring seamless integration with relevant areas.
This is a unique opportunity to join a complex organisation employing over 4,000 academic, professional, and technical staff across diverse sectors and locations.
About the Role
The Head of People Services will report directly to the Chief People Officer and collaborate closely with senior HR leaders to develop and execute strategic plans for people services.
Key responsibilities include leading the development and execution of consistent people services to drive process, system, and service improvement, while ensuring effective integration with relevant areas.
Requirements
A proven track record in delivering positive change in a complex environment is essential. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience, build trusting relationships, and use their expertise to influence outcomes.
You will have a growth mindset, a service-approach, reflective leadership style, natural humility, and financial/commercial acumen.
Experience managing mid-sized HR operations teams and being comfortable with healthy debate to find the best outcomes is highly valued. Experience working with HRIS tools and within the Higher Education sector is also desirable.
