Transform Credit Risk Management

A dynamic opportunity exists for a Director, Credit Risk, to shape and execute innovative credit risk strategies across our lending and credit business. As a key member of the team, you will partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to design and launch diverse credit products tailored to the evolving needs of Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

In this senior role, you will be responsible for end-to-end credit lifecycle management, from origination and underwriting through to servicing and collections. Your primary objective is to optimize loan portfolio performance while safeguarding the company from risk.

You will build and maintain close relationships with balance sheet partners, investors, and regulators, acting as the key representative for credit performance and risk management. This challenging role offers the opportunity to drive results in a dynamic startup growth environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement diverse credit products that meet the evolving needs of SMEs.
  • Manage the entire credit lifecycle, including origination, servicing, and collections, to optimize loan portfolio performance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with balance sheet partners, investors, and regulators, providing transparent communication on credit performance and risk management.
  • Continuously improve our credit risk management strategy and policies to align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and mentor the credit and risk management teams, fostering a data-driven decision-making culture.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in credit risk management, preferably within fintech, lending, credit cards, or unsecured loans with scale-up/startup growth experience.
  • Strong business acumen and extensive experience driving credit risk strategy and acquisition underwriting for credit cards or unsecured loans (ideally in new account originations for SME segments).
  • Direct experience leading the credit strategy analytical lifecycle, including policy design, underwriting, A/B testing, P&L analysis, performance monitoring, and strategy refinement.
  • Proven analytical skills: hands-on experience using advanced data analytics, machine learning, customer performance data, and third-party variables to solve business problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize and communicate analysis insights and recommendations to business partners and senior management.
