Job Description

Our goal is to continually evolve strategies that improve the financial well-being of customers who are struggling to fulfill their credit commitments, while at the same time delivering superior returns for our shareholders. This role sits within a key division responsible for shaping and executing risk management strategies across the customer lifecycle.

The team plays a critical role in transforming how we engage with customers in arrears, using data, analytics, and artificial intelligence to drive better outcomes for customers and the bank. With a focus on innovation and operational efficiency, this team is leading the shift from traditional collections to a future-fit, technology-enabled model.

This role is pivotal in leading the transformation of credit risk strategy, overseeing a large team, and driving the adoption of AI and advanced analytics to improve customer engagement and credit outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Lead the development and execution of innovative credit risk strategies across retail credit products.
  2. Oversee the transformation of the operating model, embedding AI and automation to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
  3. Monitor portfolio-level credit risk exposures and ensure alignment with risk appetite and tolerance thresholds.
  4. Develop and implement credit risk policies and standards in consultation with leadership.
  5. Provide strategic insights and practical recommendations to senior management on credit risk and collections performance.
  6. Lead complex credit risk projects and process redesign initiatives to modernize collections and uplift team capability.
  7. Manage and develop a high-performing team of professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  8. Engage with stakeholders, clients, and governance forums to provide guidance, challenge, and thought leadership.
  9. Research and apply best practices in credit risk and strategy to ensure future readiness.
