26Ten Community Coordinator
">Job Description:We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled professional to join our team as a 26TEN Community Coordinator. The successful applicant will play a key role in identifying local language, literacy, and numeracy needs and developing initiatives to enhance these skills.
The coordinator will be responsible for building and expanding a network of literacy practitioners, including volunteers, to support community members in their local areas. This will involve utilising initiatives outlined in the Tasmanian Adult Learning Strategy to enhance Tasmania's adult literacy and numeracy network.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting needs assessments to identify language, literacy, and numeracy gaps in local communities.
- Developing and implementing initiatives to address these gaps, including training programs and volunteer recruitment strategies.
- Building and maintaining relationships with community stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organisations, and local businesses.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A tertiary qualification within a relevant field, such as education or project management.
- At least two years' experience in project management, including knowledge of planning, report writing, and project evaluation.
- Highly organised, with strong computer skills and the ability to meet deadlines under conflicting pressures while meeting stakeholder expectations.
- High level understanding of adult and family literacy and learning principles.
- Understanding of Local Government context in service provision.
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) certification.
