Business Development Professional Job Description

This role involves building and managing relationships with our largest national and international Retail Chain customers. You will develop a deep understanding of the customer's business needs, ambitions, and pain points.


Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will identify and capitalize on opportunities to grow Schneider Electric's presence with our customers, focusing on customer success.


Responsibilities:
  • Develop strong, long-term relationships with customers, gaining detailed understanding of their business requirements and strategic direction.
  • Stay informed about market trends, developing a deep understanding of the Retail segment, customers' expectations, and emerging technologies.
  • Think expansively about the value we can provide customers across our full breadth of offers.
  • Create compelling ideas, aligning our solutions to suit customers' specific current and future needs.
  • Lead the account planning process, collaborating within the account team to develop a 'customer-focused' strategy/value proposition.
  • Drive new business growth with customers through new opportunities and existing areas of improvement.
  • Enhance customer engagement by building a network at all levels inside the customer's ecosystem.

Requirements:
  • Degree or Equivalent, Certificate or Diploma in a relevant field such as Business Administration or Marketing.
  • Previous experience in sales, account management, or a related field.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyse customer satisfaction data and develop corrective actions.
  • A good knowledge of contracting procedures and Australian Standards within the industry.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High-level technical capability and understanding.
