This Cyber Security Systems Engineer position involves working with senior engineers to design and implement system solutions, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and project requirements. The role entails contributing to the development, integration, and maintenance of systems.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and experience in software development, computer networks, and embedded software systems, preferably within a defense environment. They should have knowledge of Defense cyber security Assessment & Authorization processes and be familiar with complex systems or related defense technologies.

Key responsibilities include managing A&A documentation development and maintenance, conducting threat and risk assessments, identifying treatment controls and mitigation strategies, participating in security working groups at Product and/or Project levels with internal and external stakeholders, and providing input and review system tests and analysis for security controls.

Requirements:

  • Cyber Security Engineering experience with software development, computer networks, and embedded software systems (ideally within a defense environment)
  • Knowledge of Defense cyber security Assessment & Authorization processes
  • Contemporary security engineering process knowledge, standards, principles, and best practices
  • Familiarity with complex systems or related defense technologies desirable
  • Tertiary qualifications in systems/software engineering, computer science, or related technical discipline
  • Pursuing or achieved relevant cyber security certification(s)

Working Environment:

A defence security clearance is required for this role. Applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance preferably NV1/NV2 level.
