Cyber Security Systems Engineer Role Overview

This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the development, integration, and maintenance of systems, alongside senior system security engineers. The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting in designing and implementing system solutions while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.

The successful applicant will manage the development and maintenance of security Assessment and Authorisation (A&A) documentation, conduct threat and risk assessments, identify and recommend treatment controls and mitigation strategies. Additionally, they will participate in security working groups at Product and/or Project levels with internal and external stakeholders.

In this position, you will provide input to and review the development of system tests and analysis that verify system security controls. You will also have the opportunity to develop technical documentation and reports while staying updated with industry trends and advancements in systems technology.

Key Requirements:
• Cyber Security Engineering experience with software development, computer networks and embedded software systems;
• Knowledge and experience related to Defence cyber security Assessment & Authorization (A&A) processes;
• Knowledge and experience about contemporary security engineering process, standards, principles and best practice;
• Familiarity with complex systems or related defence technologies;
• Tertiary qualifications in systems/software engineering, computer science, or related technical discipline;
• Relevant cyber security certification(s);
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies;
• Attention to detail;
