Dementia Care Specialist

As a Home Companion, you will have the unique opportunity to work in a residential community that provides individuals living with dementia with a supportive and familiar environment.
The village is designed to promote independence, dignity, and freedom, with residents participating in normal household duties such as shopping, cooking, and housekeeping.
The hub of the village is our community centre, which features a cafe, shop, beauty salon, wellness centre, and cinema, as well as landscaped gardens with BBQs, a vegetable garden, and activity shed.
Your role will involve building meaningful relationships with residents, creating an environment that encourages them to maintain their personal identity, and collaborating with the Health and Wellness Team and Dementia Support Consultant to provide high-quality care.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trusting relationships with individuals living with dementia
- Experience working in a residential or healthcare setting (desired)
- Self-management and empowerment skills
