About the Role

This is a leadership position where you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation and performance of contract objectives related to Defence equipment maintenance, repair, and project services across the Northern QLD region.

You will work in a rostered environment with hours of 7am – 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, and 7am - 12pm on Fridays.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and cost improvement initiatives
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients to meet their needs and ensure contract requirements are fulfilled
  • Providing regular detailed reporting to stakeholders
  • Identifying and executing continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and productivity
  • Training and development of your team members
  • Supporting and implementing change initiatives
  • Achieving best practice, safety, and quality standards

To be successful in this role, you will require:

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven leadership capability in a workshop environment
  • Trade qualification or maintenance experience is highly regarded
  • Ability to interact and drive performance with technical staff and subcontractors
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Intermediate level MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Valid Driver's licence
  • Australian Citizenship and ability to maintain a Defence Security Clearance
