Senior Manager, Financial Crime Risk

This is a critical role in HSBC Australia's International Wealth and Premier Banking business.

  • The Senior Manager will provide senior-level advice and guidance on all aspects of Financial Crime Risk.
  • The role involves advising on Financial Crime Risk-related issues and events and the actions needed to address and remediate.
  • The Senior Manager will also advise on the impact and implementation of relevant regulatory changes.
  • In addition, they will be responsible for advising on the Financial Crime Risks associated with IWPB products, services, business initiatives and customers.
  • The role requires risk stewardship with respect to Financial Crime Risk controls, issues, actions and events.
Responsibilities:

As a Senior Manager, you will play a key role in providing strategic direction and leadership in the area of Financial Crime Risk.

  • You will be responsible for managing and mitigating Financial Crime Risk across the business.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to prevent and detect Financial Crime.
  • Providing expertise and guidance on Financial Crime Risk management.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Maintaining relationships with external parties, including regulators and law enforcement agencies.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • A seasoned background in senior risk compliance roles, including significant experience in AML.
  • An excellent understanding of AML/CTF regulations, including Sanctions, AB&C, Fraud and Tax Transparency.
  • Awareness of key Australian regulatory change initiatives and their impacts on the businesses.
  • International payment and banking structures knowledge an advantage.
  • Extensive experience in the financial services industry.
  • Lateral thinking skills with the ability to interpret and solve complex issues.
  • Excellent business judgement and a willingness to exercise it.
  • Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning.
  • Strong leadership skills and matrix management experience.
