Job Overview:

The Financial Crime Operations Manager plays a critical role in leading the team to effectively combat financial crime while ensuring operational efficiency.

This role is located in Sydney and operates in Australia, India, and New Zealand. As a senior leader, you will collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure effective management of financial crime obligations related to Customer Offboarding and Threshold Transaction Reporting Exception activities.

  • Establish high standards for operational excellence, striving to meet remediation timelines while producing quality work.
  • Contribute to the organization's goal of exceptional customer experience by prioritizing customers above all else.
  • Develop capability uplift for the team's financial crime knowledge relating to AML/CTF & Regulation processes, ensuring coaching, training, and quality assurance programs increase team productivity.
  • Mitigate AML/CTF & Sanctions operational risk by partnering with business stakeholders to escalate promptly and provide insights into reporting.
  • Oversight daily review of queue management and resource allocation, managing gaps and escalating to senior management as needed.
  • Cultivate a Continuous Improvement culture within the team, seeking opportunities to optimize and streamline processes.
  • Build relationships across business units to enable engagement, buy-in, and support for opportunities and process enhancements.
  • Maintain focus on financial crime and security trends, developing direct reports through leadership.
  • Manage risk and change across projects, driving material outcomes and embedding strategies to deliver Key Performance Indicators.

This position has 4 direct reports and reports directly to a Financial Crime Operations Executive Manager.

Requirements:
  • An experienced Senior Manager with in-depth knowledge of customer lifecycle, products, channels, front-line branch experience, and fraud prevention.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience as a reputable people leader.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment with volatile volume drivers.
  • Experience working with customer complaints, data, reporting, and analytics is preferred.
