Conservation Specialist
This role focuses on the preservation and conservation of records, allowing for their digitisation.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough condition examinations and carry out straightforward treatments on a wide range of record formats.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of activities and treatments carried out on collection items.
- Undertake preventative conservation activities including pest management, disaster preparedness, and environmental monitoring.
- Assist with loan and exhibition administration, preparing items for exhibits, loans, and storage, including customised housings for fragile objects.
- Participate in developing procedures and programmes for preserving archival records in various formats.
- Deliver training, presentations, and seminars on conservation topics to staff, government agencies, and the public, ensuring compliance with health and safety policies.
