Digital Preservation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Preservation Lead to oversee the management of transfers, ingest, curation, and discoverability of permanent digital records.
Key Responsibilities- Oversight, development, and execution of digital preservation workflows that meet collection, access, and user needs.
- Expertise in digital preservation tools, including advanced support for teams using the system.
- Guidance on preservation formats, metadata, transfers, and imaging best practices for various file formats and carrier types.
- Maintenance of statistics, preparation of reports, and use of relevant data to inform program planning and continuous process improvement.
- Proven experience in digital preservation with a strong understanding of digital asset management principles and methodologies.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
This role is based in Brisbane and will require frequent interaction with staff and external stakeholders. Regular travel to other sites may be required.
