The MERIT Case Manager plays a pivotal role in reducing crime associated with illicit drug and alcohol use by breaking the drug cycle.

Job Description

This position requires a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our multidisciplinary team in Coffs Harbour. The successful candidate will work closely with other health, community, and welfare professionals to provide comprehensive support services to clients.

  • We are seeking an individual with relevant tertiary qualifications in health, science, social education, behavioral sciences or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the broad health and social impact of substance misuse and dependence is essential, along with a commitment to the harm minimisation approach.
  • Evidence-based interventions for substance misuse and dependence are required, as well as high-level interpersonal skills, including effective communication with other health, community, and welfare professionals.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with the Local Court and provide confidential quality Court reports is also necessary.
  • High-level computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, are expected.
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with cultural awareness, empathy, and understanding of diverse communities.
  • Commitment to Equity, Diversity, Workplace Health and Safety, and Quality Improvement is mandatory.
