Job Title: Addiction Treatment Specialist

Description:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Addiction Treatment Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of the Local MERIT Court and MERIT treatment area, you will provide assessment, intensive case management, support, counselling, and treatment to defendants with drug and/or alcohol issues.

This is a temporary part-time position until 30 June 2026, offering an excellent opportunity for a professional who wants to make a meaningful difference in their community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with individuals before the court who have a history of or current drug use.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement holistic treatment plans that address the complex needs of clients.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications and registration with relevant health practitioner agencies (e.g., Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist) or Social Worker, Counsellor, or Welfare Officer with eligibility for membership of a relevant professional association.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of evidence-based treatment approaches applicable to individuals presenting with complex needs.
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be able to adapt to changing circumstances, and have a valid driver's license.
