Drug and Alcohol Counsellor Job Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified Drug and Alcohol Counsellor to join our multidisciplinary team. This is a fixed-term, part-time position that requires a candidate who can provide counselling support to individuals experiencing harms related to drug and/or alcohol use.

  • Tertiary qualification in nursing, social work, psychology, or allied health, with current registration with the relevant authority.
  • Experience working with individuals with drug and/or alcohol issues and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Understanding of harm minimisation principles and their application in this setting.
  • Critical thinking skills for counselling and crisis intervention.
  • Experience in assessment, case planning, treatment, and discharge planning.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly in various settings.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, including computer literacy.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals with drug and/or alcohol issues.
  • Strong understanding of harm minimisation principles and their application.
