About the Opportunity

This is a unique chance to combine your professional HR expertise with your Christian faith to serve and strengthen local church communities.

  • Work closely with regional bishops to ensure sound workplace practices are understood and followed in parishes.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the nature of ordained and lay workers in the Sydney Anglican parish context.
  • Provide strategic and operational HR support to parish leadership teams.
  • Develop and drive strategic HR initiatives to address and grow healthy and strong workplace relationships in parishes.
  • Proactively address systemic issues that impact the effective functioning of parishes.
  • Support change management and HR systems implementation across parishes.

As the successful applicant, you will be someone who has extensive experience in Human Resources, who is passionate about delivering high-quality HR support and who is able to develop a deep understanding of the nature of ordained and lay ministry in the Sydney Anglican parish context.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Proven HR generalist experience, ideally in a not-for-profit or faith-based context.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing others and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of the structure and operations of the Sydney Anglican Diocese is an advantage.
