Role Overview:
The Aboriginal Education Officer role focuses on supporting the educational and welfare needs of Aboriginal students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hold a valid Working with Children clearance
- Possess or be willing to obtain a First Aid certificate
- Administer medications as needed, with training provided
- Comply with department policies regarding Aboriginal education and training
Selection Criteria:
- Understand the unique needs of Aboriginal students
- Exhibit effective communication skills in both written and oral formats
- Demonstrate knowledge of Aboriginal communities and cultures
- Engage effectively with Aboriginal students and parents
- Work collaboratively as part of a team
- Develop an understanding of the local Aboriginal community
