Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to contribute to the teaching and learning efforts within our Indigenous Health program. As an Aboriginal Health Education Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the academic success of our students from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver educational activities relating to Indigenous Health, incorporating traditional knowledge and practices into the curriculum.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to Indigenous students, fostering a sense of community and belonging within the university environment.
  • Collaborate with faculty members to design and implement culturally responsive pedagogies, ensuring that all students receive a high-quality education.
  • Engage with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, building relationships and promoting opportunities for mutual benefit.
  • Contribute to the development of policy and procedures related to Indigenous student support, ensuring that the university remains committed to its goals of reconciliation and cultural understanding.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in Indigenous studies or a related field, with experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in teaching and learning, including the design and delivery of educational programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
