Job Overview

The Chief Category Strategist plays a pivotal role in driving the company's sourcing strategy and commercial execution. This position is responsible for creating, delivering, and executing the sourcing strategy for assigned categories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute category strategies to drive business growth and competitiveness.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives, including Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, negotiations, supplier selection, contracting, and implementation.
  • Act as a strategic business partner, engaging with cross-functional stakeholders to influence decisions and support innovation.
  • Build market intelligence and manage risks to enhance resilience and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Champion cost and value optimization by identifying and implementing ways to reduce costs, improve quality, and enhance innovation.
  • Manage the spend area's profit and loss statement, including ownership of the annual operating plan and regular forecast updates.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with suppliers to drive performance, innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
About You
  • Proven experience in category management, specifically in indirect corporate and commercial services.
  • Strong negotiation skills and deep understanding of sourcing and contracting processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and engage cross-functional stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Commercial acumen with experience managing profit and loss statements, budgets, and forecasting.
  • Strong project management and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • High resilience, adaptability, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
