About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Environmental Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Environmental team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local, prefecture, and national environmental regulations and Amazon policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement regional strategic programs by integrating with engineering, construction, and operations teams to drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization.
  2. Manage and oversee compliance with local, prefecture, and national environmental regulations and Amazon policy, ensuring that work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards.
  3. Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor, and forecast performance, and conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement.
  4. Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently, and represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company.
  5. Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately, and submit time-critical reports to various governmental agencies.
  6. Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports, and develop appropriate corrective action.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. A completed Bachelor's Degree in chemistry, chemical or environmental engineering or related field of study.
  2. 7+ years of experience serving as an environmental technical resource, program specialist, or program manager.
  3. Experience with regulatory assessments, construction notifications, wastewater authority discharge requirements, waste management and reporting requirements.
  4. Broad knowledge of South Korea national environmental regulations and standards.
  5. Experience leading change in multiple site environments and the ability to influence those that are not direct reports or within your organization.
  6. Experience successfully implementing environmental systems.
  7. Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  8. Strong interpersonal skills: excellent communication skills, strong relationship builder, solid influencing and negotiation skills, and the ability to coach at multiple levels.
  9. Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
  10. Possess business level communication skills in Korean and English.
