About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to join our team at Tesla, responsible for influencing operations safety culture, managing regulatory compliance, and driving overall risk reduction across our Automotive Sales, Delivery, Service & Collision (SSD) operations in Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement EHS policies, programs, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, field operations, and other key teams to develop and implement safe work procedures and processes.
  • Recruit, train, and manage EHS representatives to embed best EHS practices in day-to-day operations.
  • Support L.I.F.E. and high-potential incident investigations, and develop corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  • Manage chemical safety, waste streams, and vendor-led services for environmental compliance and waste management.
  • Facilitate emergency action plans and provide training to employees on general industrial safety, hazard recognition, and control.
  • Analyze data and reports trends, and recommend risk-reduction plans and corrective actions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in the technology, energy, or automotive industry, with prior experience working with electric vehicles, charging products, or infrastructure.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Practical experience with electrical/high voltage safety, workplace inspections, process safety reviews, risk assessments, and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to influence and communicate effectively with management, EHS leaders, regulators, and project management staff.
